Good morning fellow steeler’s and steel enthusiast!
First let me say Merry Christmas to you all and thank you for your support of the GaSGA!
With the NEW YEAR just around the corner, we have some important information to share with you regarding 2018 and beyond.
THE GASGA WILL HOST 2 SHOWS IN 2018 - FEBRUARY 11 AND SEPTEMBER 8
Three times a year we have strived to provide you with a Steel Guitar Show that is entertaining, educational, and always fresh. We have so many great GA steel guitarist’s and fellow pickers from all over the USA that have played our shows.
However, to provide you with the best shows possible, we have decided to change our schedule to only TWO times per year. By doing this, we feel that attendee’s will be “chomping at the bits†for GA Steel Guitar. Therefore, beginning in 2018, our dates will be the 2nd Sunday in February and the 2nd Sunday in September.
Please mark these dates on your calendars.
CHANGES IN MEMBERSHIP POLICY: Everybody is a member!!!
For years, we have offered an annual paid membership of $15, which provided for a reduced show admission fee of $10 (rather than $15). This saved members/spouses a little money if they attended all 3 shows. However, with fewer attendees opting for membership, and with changing to two shows a year, we will no longer be selling membership into our organization.
However, if you have a current membership card, we will honor the reduced price until that card expires. Please bring this card to show at the reception table.
Our new policy is summed up like this:
All attendee’s pay $15 per person with the following exceptions:
Ø Person’s playing a FULL SET on stage are admitted at no charge;
Ø Person’s just sitting in for a song or two, pay $15 per person;
Ø GaSGA Legend’s pay $10 per person, per show. A Legend’s SPOUSE is no charge.
OH YES, On November 25, 2017, the Georgia Steel Guitar Association was inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame. And, the entire awards show was dedicated to the GaSGA. Yippee!
Once again, thank to each of you for your continued support!
