I have a couple of questions regarding the replacing/regluing of the mica on my Carter. It's an S10 and the mica on the back deck was taken off by the previous owner and cracked when he was putting it back on. That needs to be replaced. The guitar, being a life long resident of Canada isn't used to the heat and humidity in Florida and now the mica on the back apron has come loose.
I guess the questions would be what thickness is the mica on these guitars and what do I need to reglue the mica on the back apron (adhesive wise). The back deck is about 2 X 22 (Black). I have a piece of a gray mottled color mica that I would trade for a piece of black or I'd like to know where to buy a piece of black. The shipping back and forth on two pieces of mica would be more than it's worth.

Regarding thickness, why not just use a micrometer on the broken piece?

I glue the stuff with contact cement.
