My vote for steel player is Les Carrot Top Anderson, third from left standing. On Carrot's right is Louis Tierney.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

My memory from the bio book is that this is the mid 40's Tiffany Transriptions era band. That could be a hint. My book is packed away somewhere and I haven't looked at it lately. I imagine Mitch Drumm, country music historian PhD will provide a definitive answer shortly! Very Happy

I think Herb has it right, Les Anderson.

That pic was used as part of the Tiffany transcription promo material and was taken in October 1945 in Fresno at Bob's property.

Strangely, I don't think Anderson ever played on the Tiffany transcriptions.

Noel Boggs had been in the band before this picture was taken and would appear in the first batch of Tiffany transcriptions a few months later, but he's not in this picture. I don't see Johnny Cuviello either.

I had thought that Roy Honeycutt might be in this picture, but I guess not. The only picture I have of him below. He was on a few of the Tiffany recordings, along with Herb Remington.
