I would like to say a few words about a wonderful new found friend; Dick Sexton. I came into the possession of a beautiful sunburst Derby steel. However, it was in need of some knee lever and tuning configuration as well as new pick ups. I got in contact with Dick through a mutual friend and asked Dick to do some work on the Derby. I just got the steel back today; it has that good ShoBud tone (thanks to Jerry Wallace) and has the smooth Emmons mechanics. Dick, you’re a blessing and a perfectionist. The steel sounds and plays fantastic! |

David, thank you so much for the opportunity to work on that Derby. I've already mentioned in another thread how I had my hands on and was able to play, one of those rare steels I consider to be one in a hundred as far as tone, sustain, and playability. If for any reason you come to the point you want to trade it off. Please Sir, call me first. |

We miss you in North Carolina Dick. But our loss is Ohio's gain. |

Glad to see your still on here and hope you and the family are doing well and will have a Joyous Christmas. Miss you guys too... And the oysters, clams, shrimp and fresh fish. All of that has to be trucked in to the Mid West. Keep in touch and the next time we're down, I'll try to swing by. |
