This old MSA is owned by a lady not far from me and I thought it was an interesting guitar, it was owned by her Father and she thought he purchased it new from MSA in the early 1970's. I haven't seen many of them with this old style logo, anyone want to venture a guess how old this guitar might be? I don't have a better picture of the guitar...it seems to have been custom ordered with 10 pedals and two knee levers on the right.
I saw Don Helms with Ernest Tubb in 1973 or 1974 and he was playing one of these, that's about the only other one I recall seeing.

I'd guess it's a '70 or'71, made just before the "Micro" transition in '72. It's a newer model than the ones shown in the brochure that Michael posted, which is what they looked like back in the '60s. I saw my first one on the Opry stage in 1966, and they started production a couple of years before that. |

This one has the metal neck "extensions" where the pickups are mounted. |
