Gibson Custom Shop Larry Carlton ES-335 (Mr. 335)
Excellent condition with two minor things noticed (see pics for examples).
1) the headstock has some rubbing wear
2) The bottom bass-side corner of the neck binding shows a little roughness and a small indentation on the fretboard.
3) The 1st and 2nd frets have a bit of something on the edge. Filler? Adhesive? I don't know (I'm the 2nd owner) so I took detailed photos

Depth at 1st fret: .8365
Depth at 12th fret: .963
Comes with original Gibson Custom case and certificate of authenticity from Gibson.

I'm reading what looks like around 1" eyeballing from the back of the neck to the center of the fretboard radius. If I had a set of calipers I could be more precise, sorry I can't give you that accurate of a reading.
According to Larry's personal website, his famed 335 reads a thickness at 12th fret of 0.970″, so I'd say mine is around the same. I know that Gibson looked meticulously at Carlton's favorite 335 for this model.

Just for comparison, these are figures for neck depth (12th fret) on other Gibson ES-335s:
1958---1.02"
1961---0.87"
After 1961, they increased until just below the 58s.

The serial # is CS250539, which, based on Gibson's info online reads as being made in 2002.
From Gibson:
"Custom Shop regular production models
CSYRRRR
CS stands for "Custom Shop"
Y indicates the production year
RRRR indicates the guitar's place in the sequence of production" |
