Yeah… what’s not to like about a Tele…

Jerry, yours even comes complete with a Nudie sticker!
When Nudie would go to an event, like the Pal, he would ride up in that Eldorado convertible (with steer horns on the hood & six-shooters for door handles), and he would have a stack of brand new $1 bills with his picture stuck on top of George Washington. He would then hand them out like business cards, telling you to keep this and you’ll never go broke.
That sticker came off easily, and I’ve seen them on a few guitars over the years… Johnny Rivers had one on his 335…

Perfect accessory for a Tele, IMHO…

I would disagree that the Tele is the most versatile of the electrics.

That's what makes horse races but I would still double down on the Tele, Charlie.

Clean sounds in rock, blues, jazz, country, funk, folk .... all on a Strat? Fugget about it! The Tele still rules in my book.

I concede that if you add grit and distortion the ballfield opens up to other guitars.

Me too. I especially like the fat tone of string 6 on a Tele. It really rumbles. I don't hear that (or feel that) when I play a Strat. It's a different kind of sound. A good sound, just different.

A cheap one to add to my batch of Tele’s.
. This Squier is a set neck, and I installed a Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickup in the bridge. Great action and sounds good.

I'll concede you can't get that 'rumble' from a Strat.

Regarding the Buck and Don pickguard...........

I did a little internet sniffage on my own (there's this thing called Google .....) and that Tele was built by Crook guitars. I believe that Brad Paisley uses them, among others.

I was hoping to buy one as a gift, so I e-mailed them, and this is the response that I got.
FYI.

"Glad you liked the pickguard. Sorry I can't help you. That picture is owned by the customer. He had it blown up and sized and I put it under a clear pickguard on his guitar."

Hey Skip, I'd forgotten about Nudie (world famous mandolin player) putting those stickers on the one dollar bills. I've probably got one in the past but had forgotten about it. I got my current sticker in 2005 when Mike Nihen (AKA Stringpull) installed my Parsons/White B-Bender in my main Tele... I think the Nudie stickers are mostly associated these days with Clarence White as most of the younger pickers don't remember who and what Nudie Cohen was or about his shop. Most of the rhinestone suits nowadays are done by Manuel who's in Nashville I believe....

As far as the Tele's versatility, I can take a stock Telecaster and go through any amp out there and get a usable tone... I don't think there's another guitar out there you can do that with....JH in Va.

Yes; there is no more expressive guitar than the Tele; the world's best pickers play Teles, and I do agree about the pickguard. here is my '89 FIRST YEAR Custom Shop, & it is NOT a phony relic; it was mint when I bought it at "We Buy" on 48th st. in NYC about 25 years ago:

I like this one best--Bill Frisell's (pickguard by TK Smith, artwork by Terry Turrell):
