Just got word that Country Jack Harper from Mississippi has passed away. Don't know any details. Jack was a big supporter of steel guitar. My thoughts to his family.

When I read this post,I was in shock.I called his cell number and his son Mike answered.I asked if this was true and he told me that Country Jack had heart attack yesterday and passed away.Mike said he would call me back when arrangements were made.
I'm sure going to miss him.He loved steel guitar and real country music very much.
Rest in peace my friend.I'll see you again when I get there, where there'll be no more tears, pain,or suffering. |

Oh No, I was so shocked to read this. I always enjoyed seeing and visiting with Jack at the Gulfport show.
He was such a great entertainer and organized steel guitar shows to promote the instrument. Such a loss for us all... _________________ Ray Harrison

Very sad to read this, I met Jack a few years ago at the Gulfport, Miss. show. Was a lot of fun to be around and a great entertainer. May He rest in peace, and prayers for the family. _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 3 & 5 The Eagle

An Eye. Had the privilege of playin steel with Country Jack

This really saddens me tonight! Country Jack Harper was a Friend of mine and my son Zane Wood. We traveled to Southeast Arkansas and played his Gospel Guitar Show a few years ago. He had came as a Special Guest at one of our Steel Guitar Shows! Jack was a Christian. A Good Man! R.I.P Brother! |

What a great loss to our steel guitar family. Jack and I always co-emcee'd the Gulfport show and had a blast.
I will surely miss him this year. _________________ AUTHORIZED George L's, Goodrich, Telonics and Peavey Dealer: I have 2 steels and several amps.
