Does anyone know when this tune was written? Was it on an album or was it just played at the ISGC in 1989 ?

That sounds like it alright Scott. What did Barney Kessel call it ? I don't think Buddy had it on an album ?

yes I believe so!

Buddy was a huge Kessel fan, I believe Barney and Pat Martino were his two all-time favorite guitarists.

he often said he based 'At E's' on Kessel's 'Barney's Blues'

you can also hear it in his version of I Let A Song Go Out of My Heart:

On the Mike Ihde-produced CD "Buddy Emmons Live in Boston July 1977," not only does he do "Blues in C" but also "FAST Blues in C."
