Michael Johnson's memorial was held yesterday at the Dakota Jazz club in downtown Minneapolis. I was lucky enough to be able to play steel and guitar with him occasionally from 2000 - 2008. He was a brilliant guitarist, songwriter, humorist, and storyteller. He would often use Sonny Garrish and Jerry Douglass on many of his records.

I didn't realize he had passed. I remember hearing him at the Bluebird in Nashville back in the 80's. What a talented, insightful person. Brian, I'm sure you deeply treasure the time you spent with him. RIP Michael.
