For those of you near the NYC area who might be interested,

On July 18-23, I will be performing with the with the Mary Halvorson Octet at the Village Vanguard (178 7th Ave South in Greenwich Village) 8:30pm & 10:30pm.

The lineup is Mary Halvorson (guitar), Jonathan Finlayson (trumpet), Jon Irabagon (alto saxophone), Ingrid Laubrock (tenor saxophone), Jacob Garchik (trombone), Chris Lightcap (bass), Ches Smith (drums), and Yours Truly on the pedal steel guitar.

The Village Vanguard is an iconic jazz club with so much history, it's worth a visit just to feel the vibes. If you're in the area and would like to come to the show, please stop by and say hello. We'll be playing two sets each night - 8:30pm & 10:30pm. I look forward to seeing you there!

Thanks, Bob; it is indeed a prestigious venue - lots of famous ghosts in those walls. Hopefully we'll make it to Champaign sometime (and we will be in Chicago sometime early in September).

(however, the pedal steel does not go "lower than an upright bass" - at least mine doesn't)
