It's no surprise that TW knocks it out of the park but Vince Moreno is a good player and a fine singer.

OK, I keep hearing about Tommy White CDs and Records. So far unable to find a way to purchase any. Especially looking for his By Request album. Any clues?

And Roger, I couldn't agree more that while Tommy is an amazing player there are certainly others out there that make my ears happy. Aside from the well-known Masters, I am always happy to find links on the forum that introduce me to players that Inspire, amaze, and make me cry.

Wow. Just watched the solo you mentioned and several others, including the Hughey intro on "Look at Us". Did honor to the original and still made it his own. Great player. Thanks for sharing. Still would like to find TW cds if anyone knows where.

Robert, I was hoping TW might have some leads for you, but perhaps he hasn't seen the thread lately. I see CD Universe lists the By Request CD as MP3 available. clickhere

Don't know what's up with the artwork though, as that's surely not correct for Tommy's cover.

Maybe we can get back on track in keeping with the topic as well.

Hi Ron,
I really appreciate your effort at the tab of my solo. That must have taken up considerable time, however, it is incorrect. I understand the difficulty in tabbing another players ideas, geographics and tone timbre. I did not “rake” any strings at the beginning pick up notes or anywhere in the solo. All notes on that solo are picked individually. The only time I “rake” as you refer to, is on the C6th tuning, which is seldom and is usually the full chord using strings 2 thru 9 engaging standard floor pedal raising string 2 (E) and lowering string 6 (E) half tone, “ala” Buddy Emmons. My solo on The Buddy Emmons tribute recording with Paul Franklin and Vince Gill references Buddy Emmons’ raking technique.😊

Sometimes, we as mere mortals forget how fast you are with your fingers and the blocking. I have never heard anything from TW that wasn't tasteful, clean and expressive. Thanks for giving us all something to shoot for. We all want to be Tommy White, if not for a song, at least for 1 lick! I will say you have set the bar pretty high.
What a nice, humble and courteous guy. Very Happy
