Tab 1207 – E9th – More C6 Sounds on the E9th Tuning!

This tab makes use of split tuning on the 5th String. You can also just depress the A pedal half way to do this.

The follow on tab to this one will make great use of the 11th and 12th strings of the extended E9th tuning.

With a little practice you can play these splits purely on reflex and it will sound very smooth.

This tab shows how diminished chords can be played as melody against a non-diminished rhythm track.

The 4 strings are played with the fingerpicks playing the top two strings and the thumb sweeping the bottom 2.

A raises string 5 a full tone, B raises string 6 a half tone, E lowers 4 and 8 a half tone, G lowers 5 a half tone
S signifies a “split” achieved by pressing Pedal A and knee lever G at the same time. Result is a half tone raise!
