this is an iconic album ! Steve's playing is a major influence on tone, delay, execution etc...
True Honky Tonk for certain.

Donna,
Steve's playing on that song is one for the ages. So much emotion and just so good. Just wish they gave him credit on the CD, of which I own, but we all know who it is, thanks to the Forum.
One of my top ten steel breaks! _________________ Regards, Craig

Craig, you should get the new CD side by side with Steve and Larry Toliver. Good stuff. _________________ Custom Rittenberry SD10

Does anyone have the tab to Gary's guitar playing in these videos? Steve certainly did a great job laying in these videos.
For those not familiar with Gary Stewart:
Gary and Herby Wallace were bandmates in Donna Fargo's band. Gary was Donna's piano player before he had his own career. He also played piano for Charlie Pride for awhile. Gary's son, Gary Joe, commited suicide. Gary's life was reported to have been plagued with drug and alcohol problems. So sad that he took his own life also. He was always one of my favorites. Most of his studio cuts had Weldon playing on them. Gary wrote some great songs, like Billy Walker's "She Goes Walking Through My Mind"
I miss those country singers that had a distinct style. There was no mistaking Gary for anyone else. I admit I didn't care for the southern rock flavored songs, but his cut of Johnny Russell's "This Heart Just Won't Let Go" was real country. I guess my favorite was "Room Above The Street" the studio cut was such a masterpiece of arrangement between guitar and steel.

Just found this post because i was trying to find out who played on the album. It's unconscionable that they don't list the musicians, and yet list tons of other stuff.
Steve Palousek absolutely kills it. His licks, sound, taste and touch are the epitome of modern steel playing. I hope he's doing well, and playing in a great band somewhere these days.
