Man! I played my first Franklin last night at a band rehearsal. WHAT A GUITAR! It was a White Universal 12. Such an awesome guitar. The action on the knee levers is quite an experience. Anybody know if all guitars can be made to play like that? Or is that just a Franklin feature? Thanks!

This one has been discussed here before. The natural finish amaranth and maple woodneck guitar.

I borrowed TC's wood neck Franklin to play on Oprah one time. The performance popped up last minute, we were in Chicago, and I needed a guitar. Nice instrument.

Mine has one. I suspect Paul's have several...

Mine has split tuning Allen head screws for the 5th and 6th string on the E9th neck. I had Paul put them in "aftermarket".

Per Paul Sr., I went to my local kitchen cabinet store and picked my "Aubergine" color. I'm glad I didn't pick avocado. I have no split tuning, but I'm ok with it.

My 1980 Franklin looks exactly like the one Hal is pictured with, except not so many knee levers. No split screws on mine either.

I guess I'm an exception, but I really like the early block-lettered Franklin logo. To me, everything about that guitar has the cool factor of a very early Fender Broadcaster.

The first Franklin I ever saw had the old logo and Robbie Flint was playing it, a black D10
He was at a local club in NJ with a band from Virginia area I think.

Jim Garstang was the piano player with Mel who came up with the modern logo.
