I was in Nashville last week and stopped into Duane Marr's Custom Shop. I saw various Sho-Buds being upgraded mechanically and saw a refinish. Duane and Jeff can turn an old Sho-Bud into a brand new out of the box one. There is nothing they can't do to make an old Sho-Bud new. Very reasonably priced. Fabulous playing and sounding guitars. Yeah Kevin....Duane and Jeff are great at what they do and two great guys to boot!! About 10 years ago,Duane guided me through the process of building a guitar for myself. It was a charcoal grey mica guitar,ser # 0003 and was stolen about 5 years ago.I haven't had any success in recovering the guitar but it was one of the best playing guitars i've ever owned. Duane's system is super smooth and he and Jeff do great restoration on Sho-Bud guitars! Just a side note.....i grew up about 40 miles north of Syracuse and know how rough the winters can be up there so......hang in there man!!
