I just bought a guitar with a double raise changer, and I have 7th pedal and RKL both raising the 4th string on my C6 neck - does anyone have ideas for setting this pedal up with something besides raising 4th string?

Most folks raise the A to B on the floor, and then the A to a Bb on the knee.

You might try raising the middle C (strg #7) to D. I like this change alot! It's a good way to experiment with that middle D note that alot of guys are interested in these days(BE, Terry Crisp, Mike Cass), without dedicating an open string to it.

Consider when C6 1st string = D

If you have the standard P5 (10 C-D, 9 F-F#, 5 G-F#) you could try strings 7 & 3 = C-C#. P4&P5 would then give the notes F A C E G A C E G (3rd fret) on strings 10 thru 2. Which is unavailable when the 1st string is tuned to D.

Another option is to raise (8 A-B & 7 C-D) same as P7 but in the low register. Pressing P4&P5 and lowering 3 C-B(on a knee-lever) gives almost 2 octaves of a Bminor pentatonic scale = Am pent.scale. at 10th fret.
Notes C E A C D E G A D C on str 10 thru 1 at 10th fret.

Both changes mentioned for P4 can also be used alone and not in combination w P5.

I recently switched p4 to

9th string lower whole F-Eb
8th string raise 1/2 A-Bb
7th string raise 1/2 C-Db
6h string raise 1/2 E-F

as used by Doug Jernigan and others- see http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum5/HTML/006673.html

There are many great answers and I recommend you evaluate all carefully.

Another possibility would be to lower A to Ab, but that's best on a lever too.

I'm using the change Mike Cass showed me instead of raising both A's to B-I raise string 7-C to D, string 8-A to C, and string 9-F to A-This gives a nice whole tone scale and works well with my LKL lowering 4th string 1/2 tone and vertical knee raising the 6th string 1/2 tone

Thanks for all the input - I probably should have mentioned that I only have 2 bellcranks available at this time - I think I'm going to go with Bengt's suggestion of raising the 8th and 7th strings so I can get that minor pentatonic scale.
