chatroom and isp#

I have a teacher's chatroom that I've been visiting for years. When you enter, your ISP# and time/date appear next to your name. I've noticed a few regulars come in w/o that showing. How can they do that? Maybe someone can enlighten me and bring me into the 21st century.
