Hi Ken, I'm not sure how to post tab but follow this and you should be in the ballpark. first lick: 3rd fret, play string 5, mash B & C pedals, string 4, String 3, release pedals. play string 6, mash B & C pedals, string 5, string 4, release pedals. For both of these, no muting, let the strings ring over. play string 5, mash A pedal, play string 5 without pedal. 2nd lick: 8th fret, play string 6 twice, mash B pedal, string 5 twice, mash A pedal, string 4 twice, mash C pedal, let the strings ring together from here. play 3rd string, 4th string with the C pedal engaged, release the C pedal, play string 5 with the A pedal, release A pedal.

My tabbing skills are no better than my playing, but here's my attempt. This is how I hear it. The first lick is played on the 3rd fret by mashing down pedals B&C, then releasing.

The second lick is on the 8th fret working the A&B pedals, then sliding up to the 10th fret and back.

I thought Paul Franklin did the steel on that album, but didn’t recognize the guy in the video...That was maybe one of the all time great albums, IMVHO...and how cool was it to have Vince Gill playing fiddle in the video...(Guy on left in the back of the PU)

It is obvious that the band are miming during the video but when the steel player plays the lick in the discussion He is somewhere around the tenth fret with His bar? everyone seems to be tabbing the lick at the third fret. Is this just a mistake during filming or can the lick be played at the tenth fret?
I admit that I have cloth ears,I cannot hear much(if any) difference in using the A/B pedals or the B/C for this lick.
Best regards
Billy

That was Rodney's current band in the video at that time; not the ones that played on the album. Paul Franklin played the steel...Vince and Rosanne sang harmony...and it's a Tony Brown(and rodney)production....so that is usually the "A Team" session players in Nashville.

Isnt the steel player in the video Hank DeVito. Played for Emmylou Harris and also plays a mean guitar. Oh yeah, heck of song writer as well, wrote a big hit sang by Crowell called Queen of Hearts.
