Remember when pedals A+B were tied together on one pedal?...(before my day!)

Tune string 6 to only raise 1/2 step on P7 (G# to A).
Now strings 5 and 6 emulate the old E9th A+B tied together on one pedal change.

Kinda fun to kick it around and think about the old days (in the privacy of your own home )!

Did they have a high G# at that time?

Pete-back in the dinasour days, we did not have a high G#. I tried but couldnt get a string up there and stay there. We didn't have "rollers" on the nut end either. That would have helped....keep pickin....al

Hey Pete,
That's a great change to get you an Amaj7 chord. If you've got a B to Bb change on a knee lever try this. Go to any key, take an open C on the 8th fret. Use this pedal to go to the Fmaj7 and then lower your 4th and 5th strings a half tone against the raise and the let everything off so you're back in the open positions. It's one of the most beautiful things you've ever heard on steel.

I had a new 1960 Fender 400 with the G#/A, used a banjo string with fair results, don't remember the gauge.I also modified the hook on the changer so that the string was more in a straight line(no roller bridge). Also kept a small can of 3in1 oil for that string.
