Topic: help with push pull date |

i got my first push pull a couple of months ago and i am wondering about the date. the serial # is stamped under the end plate and it is 6726. from the info i have seen on other serial numbers mine doesnt seem to jive? any thoughts?

yeah, thats what i kind of figured. its really pretty clean and doesnt seem to have a lot of time on it. thanks for the quick reply. while i have the attention of you p/p guys, this steel has the legrand style pedals and while i thought at first i might like them better, i wonder now if i would like the older style pedals more. how could i come by those old pedals and are they interchangable or does it mean a whole new pedal board.

| I don't think they're interchangeable. Then again, I haven't looked at a legrande pedal rack in a while. I'd wonder about the pedal spacing too. |

yeah i bet your right david. i would think pedal spacing would be the biggie and i dont expect to be able to just swap the pedals out but i really dont know. i havent looked at a older emmons pedal rack in a while so we shall see. i know somebody knows out there.

Hi Dave,
I have serial #6463 it is dated 1982. I also have the newer pedals. A friend has one with the older pedals, I don`t think they are interchangeable, they are also a lot heavier. Hope this is of some help.

| Just remember, if you do get a chance to try another pedal rack, that there are 2 types of the cast (old style) pedals. The older ones, like the ones on my 71 are wider and spaced further apart, the newer ones are narrower and closer together. |

| I've had both kind of pedals and I like the le grande pedals a lot better. The Emmons I have now I think is an 81 model . Wood body , wood necks. Great sounding guitar. |

My Emmons is serial # 2923, I believe that it is an '81 model. Did the serial numbers change to the 6000's in '82? Just wondering.

| David, according to Paul Crawford that I bought it from, that P/P is dated sometime in '84. I almost kept that pedal rack for Tommy White's P/P that I have but never tried to see if they would swap. The latest P/P that I have seen on the Forum is '85. |

This is the story that I've heard...
Emmons stopped making P/P's as their regular production guitar in late '81, or early '82. They continued, however, to make them on a special order only basis for another 5 or 6 years! These are the guitars that have the high (6XXX) serial numbers. Rumor has it that the last P/P that Emmons actually made might have been as late as '88 or '89. |
