Here's a nice early Christmas present for the jazz guitarist on a budget.
I bought this guitar in early 2001.
The guitar is in excellent condition. Floating pickup functions perfectly and the guitar plays beautifully. I have it strung with Thomastik flatwound strings to give it a nice warm jazzy tone with some acoustic airiness that a floating pickup provides.
I removed the "E" on the pickguard when I got it for cosmetic reasons. I also had my guitar repairman install aheavy duty input jack in place of the somewhat flimsy original.
Originally, I had planned to purchase it with the Epiphone hardshell case, but after reading so many negative reviews I chose to purchase a well-padded Taylor gig bag for it, which works perfectly.
The guitar has been in my smoke-free studio for since I got it, and has not received a lot of playing time so the frets are in great shape. This is a turnkey guitar - no work required.
For the price, I believe you'd be hard-pressed to find a better playing and sounding guitar of this type.
