I don't think Sonny is on the internet (based on information that someone posted a while ago).

Never the less, congratulations to Sonny. I agree it is long overdue. When I was in the early stages of my career, Sonny was doing a lot of the sessions that were on the radio or on albums I would buy. He was a big influence on me.

Saw Sonny in the Po' Boys in the very early 70's. He got such a sweet tone from his rosewood Emmons push pull. One of the most creative and intelligent session steel players ever. The award is long overdue as has been previously been mentioned.

A well justified HOF Inductee. Congratulations.

Last time I saw Sonny was at one of the Bill Anderson show tapings at the old Channel 8 studio in Nashville, I think September 1971.

There is a new show on RFD called Music City Show. On Friday I think it was the second episode, Sonny played steel and dobro. One of the nicest men I have ever met. Congratulations to Sonny.

Congratulations to Sonny on his induction. I heard Sonny playing steel on the Judds' records in the eighties, and in 1996, I had gotten Shania's first record, which Sonny had played on, and then in 1999, I heard him on Chalee Tennison's first record. Sonny is one of my steel heroes!

This is why I think Sonny is such a great guy. I got to watch him on a recording session. After he was finished, I asked if I could have my pix taken with him. I would have been happy with a side by side pix, but the photo that was taken was his idea. Sonny you are a wonderful person and great player. Congratulations to your induction to the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame

Cool photo Dale.

I wonder how many sessions that rosewood push-pull has recorded on. Must easily run into the tens of thousands. Sonny still looks fit, and like me he still had hair when I first saw him play live. Very Happy

Dave, I am the ugly one on the right Very Happy
Ken, From the pix it is hard to tell but the guitar in the photo is black and was taken a year or so ago. It looks like the guitar on the RFD show that aired last week was also black. That show was recorded some months ago, not exactly sure of the date. If I ever get lucky enough to see him again I will ask him about the rosewood guitar. Dale
