ISGC NEWS
The steel guitar show in Gulfport, MS was held over this past weekend. During Joe Wright’s set he did his famous Theopolis act which is always extremely entertaining. When Joe went to change his clothes Lyn Owsley, Pee Wee Whitewing and Billy Robinson went on stage. Joe, thinking they were planning something, went and sat in the audience. They announced from the stage that Joe was inducted into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame. The audience went wild and gave him a standing ovation. It is our understanding that Joe was completely taken aback and had absolutely nothing to say (!). Now that Joe has been told we can officially (and proudly) announce that JOE WRIGHT is inducted into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame and he will be given his plaque at the 2014 International Steel Guitar Convention. Congratulations Joe!
