Eddie Rivers here, from Asleep at the Wheel.

I've been meaning to ask all my steel guitar friends to check out my new solo CD. It is called Plain Talkin' Man and my Asleep at the Wheel bandmate Jason Roberts co-produced it with me. It is on Ray Benson's record label here in Austin, called Bismeaux Records.

The goal of this album was to do songs that not only steel guitar fans but everyone could enjoy. We included classic country, a jazz standard, boogie woogie 50s Pop and early rock-n-roll…but most of all Western Swing, the music I love best and always have since I can remember. We tried to pick songs that haven’t been done to death; phases of western swing ranging from Roy Rogers to Bob Wills. I think we accomplished this.

I hope everyone can enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.

Digital version available here on iTunes: CLICK HERE

2. A Plain Talkin’ Man From The West

4. There’s a Cloud In My Valley of Sunshine
5. San Antonio Blues
6. Your Old Used To Be

10. I Knew The Moment I Lost You
11. Big Solid Gal
12. Bud’s Bounce

I bought it this past Saturday at y'all's show in Galveston. It is awesome and was great for the drive back to Houston. Perdido is beyond awesome. I've been covering teardrop for the past couple years and was really excited to hear you do it. I do it in c#m, what tuning are you using? Great job on the cd. It hasn't left my CD player in my car since Saturday. I'm afraid I might ware out Perdido and it won't work haha.
