Thanks,

Brian

IMHO, if everything works 400 ain't bad. Are the the tuners good? Do all the pickups work well? Legs okay? Is there a solid case? Is it comfortable to play?

The brand isn't like Fender/Gibson desirable but it is a double 8 - which makes it more than a single 6 or D6.

It looks badass to me. Just sayin'.

I have no experience with Teisco steel guitars but have owned and played a number of Teisco electrics. They are among some of the coolest "pawnshop" guitars ever made. I converted two that I bought at flea markets to lap steels because of extremely tortured frets by previous owners and found them to sound fantastic! The pickups in the photos above are generally great sounding units. If everything is functional like Soloman say's, I would not hesitate in buying this guitar if you have the montey.

My first steel was a Teisco and I've owned and worked on several others. I currently own two of them.
The quality of construction varies widely. Some of their tuner gears were made of pot metal, others were
brass. Some of the pots and wiring are flimsy.
The pickups generally have pretty good sound, more mellow than Fenders.
I do like them.
I woudn't pay over $250 for the guitar in question.

$400 seems like a good price IF the electronics and the tuners work well. I've owned a couple Teiscos and they were real screamers. They have kind of a raw sound, a great tone for certain styles of music.

Well I bought ($365) it because the pickups worked. The wiring was messed with and some clean up is in order. Pics will be posted when I am done. Info on this model is very hard to find. Very Happy

its funny in 2019 or 2020 I ended up buying this lap steel and love it but I really need a wire diagram for it when I got it one of the pots was not even hooked up so I was thinking someone rewired it and did it wrong so I'm just trying to get it wired correctly now aloha
