Happened to find this great stripped-down live video, just G.E. Smith singing and playing Tele with David Lindley's classic overdriven lap steel, nearly seven minutes of excellent audio and crystal-clear video. I see from the archives that there have been a few discussions of the song. If you want to get a good close look at his vibrato, his "rasquedo" technique, and/or want to watch his left foot working the volume pedal, take a gander.

And yeah, "Tubes Rule".

Content warning: I gather that most Lindley fans know the song well; but, just in case, be advised that Warren Zevon often used frank language and some listeners might be offended by parts of this song.

Two of my faves for sure. Was that a Gibson BR-9 he was playing? and does anyone know if he was using his trademark Dumble overdrive special?

Hi I think I found it. DVD, E G Smith 50 Watt Fuse. Both reviews say concert with Lindley is a bonus. Any one have this DVD? How much of the two and a half hours is Smith and Lindley?
Thanks Dennis
