Topic: left hand warm up |

I have read some criticques on a person's recording that stated it could use a little "left hand warm up". As a novice i would appreciate what the comment means as well as how to do.
My learning curve is on the technique portion of playing and I have to admit it isn't easy

The bar needs to be at right angles to the strings, and the balance of pressure between its nose and heel needs to be correct. Also you need to be able to move quickly and accurately to a distant fret, so maybe checking those things would constitute a LH w/u

Thank you for your response it helps cearify my thoughts on what a "warmer left hand" means.
Jon that attachment will really help me.
You guys (and girls) on this forum are a real help. I consider you as my instructors as there aren't other psg players in my immediate area.

Hard to say. Was the person who made the remark a good player? A lot of people make comments on YouTube about steel guitar when they aren't even players!
Anyhow, I wouldn't pay much attention to a comment like that unless I knew the critic was qualified. |

The title of this post had me thinking of "warm-up" as a series of technical routines ahead of performing.
I now realise that this was a vague comment on style, quite possibly from someone who doesn't know their mule from their elbow.
