Everything works, just not the right axe for my purposes.

Marc, a few years ago a top luthier brough me a Bogen tube amp to restore. It was a Challenger CH18. It needed new caps, resistors and an output transformer. I converted the inputs to 1/4" and also now has 4,8 and 16 ohm selectable outputs and a 1/4" output jack for the speaker(s).
As it went, he was strapped for funds and I ended up buying it as well as absorbing the repair bill (almost $300.00). It has sat on the top of my second work station since and I play thru it now and then.

If you are interested I will get some pictures for you. It just sits there and I will never really use it, as I have so many amps I built for myself!
Love to do a trade, if that interest you. As with all old octal preamp tubes they are a bit microphonic! I ordered NOS RCA and they were worse. Will dig those out and throw them in as well.

That sounds like a very cool amp. I'm going hold off right now since I already have a '48 National Supreme which seems to have a pretty similar tube set up, as well as a couple of other 6v6/5Y3 amps. Thanks tho.
I'm also interested in a high quality powered speaker like an EON if anyone has one they would like to trade. |

| I have a two pup git, but it's just like the one on Ebay. Great little guitar, and I love the "Speed Bump" pickups. I'm not sure if the name "Speed Demon" is the correct one for these models. I believe that Kay made a big advertising splash about their new "Speed Demon" necks, that they used on many models. If I get time, I'll look through the info that Michael Lee Allen was kind enough to send me. |

I sold an identical Speed Demon last year, except the finish on mine was original.
These are great playing necks, and they sound warm and wonderful.. Very unique, and very "vintagy".. This one is priced right!

Hi Roy,
Got your PM. The neck is straight and the guitar plays well with reasonably low action. Definitely not like a lot of these older lower end guitars that wound up with bowed necks that relegated them to "slide only" status.
Time to get this out of the house and make room for my new PSG. I'll entertain all reasonable cash offers. |
