That sure is some nice music, Paul. What a great collection of musicians.
I got a kick out of Vince Gill watching you play the solo in For The Good Times, he was watching intently and then when you did that bar slant lick it blew his mind so bad all he could do was laugh. That was great! Smile

It just grabs you. I've learned through the years that you can't teach taste and soul. You gotta just have it and these guys got it in spades...thanks PF

There are steel players, and better steel guitar players, and then there are world class musicians.
Paul Franklin is a world class musician - that fortunately (for us) chose the pedal steel guitar as his instrument of choice.
In addition to his jaw-dropping up-tempo work, and the fantastic twin harmony leads he and Andy Reiss have developed, Paul's melodic single-note stylings, sustain and pedal/knee lever work on the ballads just knocks me out.

Paul - any possible chance of new Time Jumper DVD with current members ?

First one of the bunch I listened to. The giggle at 2:44 is priceless! (From Vince Gill on left).
Paul, thank you (and jpsilkeborg for capturing and posting) for a wonderful performance. By the time I finish with the other vids, I'll be on Orbitz booking a flight to Nashville too. Very Happy

I find it rather baffling that this thread has only gotten 23 comments so far and is fading away. I think if it had been entitled, "Who all has a horse named Merle, a dog named Hank and a tractor named Willy?" there would be 10 pages of comments by now.
The live PSG playing on these videos is too good to be taken lightly.
Paul, I look forward to following your career in the coming years and seeing how far you take this thing. As the first wave of great pedal steel players slowly vanishes I see you as the leader of the new wave. Or certainly one of them. You're setting the bar impossibly high and that's just great.
Thanks, Don
