James, not all pointy plants are the same. I'll skip the Poison Ivy, thanks.

I did not realize this thread was from 2010. Marin, have you built several more since then? I'll do a search. stevet

Steve

Martin has built about 10 steels since mine in 2010.

In fact he built a 12 string for me which is a super steel, but after playing 10 strings for 40 years
I felt it was not for me and I'll stick to me dbl neck steels.

Today in fact is the 6th anniversary of this blue steel (May 14th,2010).

I have replaced the the E-66 back to the original Alumitone pickup.
The alumintone height is 0.135 under 1st string and about 0.150 under the 10th string.
The removable knee lever has been reshaped (see pix)

I use GHS SS strings on this steel.
This steel is now my main steel and plays so smooth it is a joy to play.

I came across this post in my search for an item.
This guitar is now just over 7 years old and to this date I have never broken 1 string while playing it or changing strings.

I love this guitar and don't play anything else these days.

Thanks so much to my dear friend Mike Weenick for just and excellent build.
Mike, no longer is able to build steel guitars because of his health.
Don

Wow, Martin and Don, what a beautiful instrument. I hope it sounds as gorgeous as it appears. I was really blessed to end up with the MW PSG that was originally Don's. Went through some Frankenstein alterations and travels through Florida, but Doug Jones helped get it back to a great set up for me. Your instruments are really works of function and art. Btw, are you still building PSGs for general public, or more select personal situations?

PS, sorry, I didn't see that thread was dated. Oh well, still a great guitar. Wishing everyone, health and happiness, in these challenging times.
