I'm coming up from Calvert County. I just got my Ernest Tubb 1965 TV Show video and WOW! Can't wait to see him play with a band in a club. Truly a Living Legend.

Just in from catching Paul Vendemmia playing steel with Ty Braddock at Grif's in Olney. Great show...real country music with not one but two Fender Tele's on stage. From Waylon to Hank Jr. to Haggard, Paul's back-ups were smokin'. No pop-schlock on this show....highly recommend any Friday they are there. The show with Buddy on the 31st will be one not to miss.

Yeehaa!!!!! it oughta be a hoot and a holler all wrapped up in one! I'm surprised there hasn't been more interest. Yeesh, Buddy is one of the guys that basically invented the way to play this instrument. Without him, Emmons, and Day, we'd be in pretty sad shape. Get your butts out to support one of our legends.

Chris, over 20 years ago Buddy was sitting in the audience at The Hunters Lodge, in the front row listening to me play steel. Anyway, the time was right for a few banjo tunes and Buddy could have easily relocated. He stayed put the entire time I had the old five strapped on. I felt he didn't want everyone to know that he really enjoyed some of my innovative atonal hot licks, he had his hand covering his face but he did a poor job canceling is approval and listening enjoyment as this countries only indigenous instrument was being played. Yep, even over 20 years ago, many steel players had a huge inventory of banjo player jokes. Buddy might have, but he was the first steel player I met to acknowledge in his own way how much he enjoyed my banjo playing. Now to your question at hand, YES I will be there!

Oh, and I've gotten about a 1/2 dozen e-mails asking me to describe myself so forum members can introduce themselves to me. I'll be hard to miss, I'll be the guy on stage playing bass.

Chris,
Thanks for the Beer! Great chick drummer... she can really spank those puppies!!!

Paul,
Awesome playing!!!

Gary,
Thanks for the seat!!!

Buddy - just terrific, solid, clear and HOT - all nite long. Thank you for showing up and playing. What a treat.. And I got to sit about 6 feet from you and watched every move you made!!

Ricky - it was Honky Tonk at its best. Informal, loose, and the playing was hot. At one point, Chris had to fan Buddy's C6 neck it was so hot.....

DEFINITELY WORTH THE 2 HOUR DRIVE from Wilmington... hope to make it again.

Bob, Buddy was playing his new BOLT ON Zum. The front of his guitar is designed to look like a mountain. The only flaw is the lack of green laminate, cut out to simulate pine trees.

Ricky, Buddy's constant use of bars slants adds that much more to his music, both on E9 and C6. Most of all, he really had a good time.
