I drove to Louisville and picked up my new Derby SD 10 on Thursday. This is the latest Derby built out of Charlie's shop. Charlie had already put the formica on before he passed and I believe the endplates, too. Bob Callaway did a very good job in putting the mechanism together for me. It has 5 pedals and 6 knees. It looks, sounds and plays great.
I thought I would share some pictures of this special guitar. Thanks Margit and Bob.

Thanks, Bill and Hook. Bo, I decided on a TW from past experience. I also considered a 10-1. I'll see how it works out.

I have one just like it except for the pedal setup . Same color, etc. It too was one of the last ones built by Charlie . I believe he put this one together himself . It was built in Jan '09 . A great guitar in all respects .

In correspondence with Tommy Butler he's saying that Derby is still in business. I plan to visit Ms. Margit late March. Now I dunno if one can put in a new order, but I'm led to believe one can.

I think I may have misspoken, the last one made by Charlie is what I should have said. I've heard Derby will still be making guitars.

Cool E9 machine Dan! Really great setup! Is your vertical a little stiff with 4 pulls? Whoa!

Hey, Rick! No, it's not all that stiff. I've got the 10th string timed to engage at the halfway point on the lever throw to give me a light half stop feel on strings 1 and 7 to get those G notes.

cool geetar Dan! I really like the look and setup. BTW your old preamp is sounding great, I did a fair comparison on a two night job with my old amp when I got it, same speaker cabs, power amp, room, everything. Quite a difference! - thanks
