It is truly an honor to join this wonderful forum! Over the past year I have truly enjoyed reading about many of my heros...and seen what a wonderful family of musicians have gathered here. I just had to join!

I am just starting my steel journey with a Fender Dual 8 Professional that I found at Boogeyman Music in Ellensburg, Washington last August. The GREAT Herb Remington has been so kind and patient in answering questions and providing me with learning materials. Hopefully I can start to get some sounds out that are musical, and don't scare the cats too much!

Thanks!

Earl Calvert

Welcom Earl.

You make the good choice. Mr Remington learning materials are really good!
You have many videos ( you tube ) from Rick Alexander. He passed away. Rick was a great person.
Yesterday afternoon I recorded a little song thinking about him...
I pluged my stringmaster direct to my Mac ( Garageband ) No amp.
I am learning steel guitar too.

I whish you the best! Practice every day, step by step... slowly.

Best Regards

Eddie.

Earl, it starts with the cats, then it will proceed to the wife running out of the house. You know that you are making progress when she remains in another part of the house, then over time as you improve she starts to come closer. That is actually how you know that you are making progress. Laughing Winking Winking

Welcome to the Forum from Vancouver.
You will enjoy your time here and sometimes the ribbing. Surprised

Aloha, Smile

Welcome Earl. Pull up a chair and begin the process of learning from the pros.

Oh yeah, before I forget, sometimes even the pros can't agree on what is the right way. Oh Well
