FLASH! Bobby Caldwell was rushed to emergency room at the St. Athony hospital just now! No reason was given to us but the voice said "it doesn't look good." The voice was that of Debbie. I am assuming it was Debbie Johnly. We will post more as word comes in to us.I am useing our home computer and will back at Scotty's Music email address later on today. We will say our prayers...Scotty and Mary

This is the worst news I've heard all year. There never was a kinder soul than Bobby and never a finer musician. I missed him at this years convention as did everyone else. I know he is at peace now and no longer suffering but that doesn't make it any easier to say goodbye. So long Bobby, Rest in peace.

I didn't know him like many of you, but I watched him and saw his love for the performers and the steel guitar at the convention for 30 yrs. I don't have any words to express the sadness I feel. RIP Bobby Caldwell.

The last time I played with Bobby I'll never forget a particular lead ride he took. That's the memory I'll cherish. Fly on BC! God bless and be with the Caldwell family.

Hard to comprehend this sadness today. Bobby will be missed so much. Condolences to all in his family and his very large circle of friends and fans. He was a true giant in our world. Prayers to his family especially.

L T Zinn is walking around here like a zombie, after hearing this news about Bobby.
He wants me to send his love to Linda and the family.
He truly has been praying for Bobbie every day for a long time now.
We know Bobbie is in a better place, but, still very hard to lose him.
Such a helpless feeling..........We MUST trust our Lord and Savior.

This is almost too hard to write. The world of music and the world at large has lost a wonderful person and one hell of a good guitar player. Sharon and I will miss hearing Bobby play and seeing him clown around on stage. He was a true professional who always brought out the best of everyone he played with.
Peace,
Joe & Sharon

This is a sad day for the steel guitar world, and the guitar world. Bobby has been one of my favorite guitar players ever since I first heard him play in 1974. I'll treasure the CD's and tapes I have of him playing.

Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic again that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also added a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks.

I guess the Lord figured that John needed a great lead player.
I've been too afraid to open the Gone section. I knew when Debbie called me that it was not good news.
Bobby was absolutely a professional in every aspect of the word. I was so proud to have had so many opportunities to be on stage with The Great Mr. Caldwell and to visit via phone so often.
Great friend. Missing him will not stop for a long, long time.

Words just don't come to mind right now. So very very sad to hear about Bobby's passing. Like many others, I have been praying for his recovery, but GOD had other plans for him. Heartfelt condolences to Linda and the family as well to all of us who had the opportunities and pleasure of hearing him play at the convention over the years. He was loved by many of us and will be missed greatly.

This is sad news indeed. I had talked briefly with Scotty when he was in Iowa a couple of weeks ago about Bobby. I talked with Bobby a few times in St. Louis, and was always appreciative of his great guitar playing.

I remember watching from the side of the stage one night when Norm Hamlett was playing. Without hesitation, Bobby stood up and began playing twin guitars with Norm, without rehearsal. This is a sure sign of true musicianship, and compliment to your fellow player.

May you rest in peace and may God grant your family His love and solace at this time.

Dennis

I was with my group this morning when a call came through on my cell phone I knew it was not good news, I had to finish our singing before I could check my message and there it was.
God be with the family, and Bobby RIP.
I've been at Scotty's Conventions for the last 30 plus years and can't ever remember Bobby missing the convention until this past event.
We all will miss him, but will never forget him.
Love and prayers to the Caldwell family.
