BIAB files to Garageband (Mac)

How do you transfer BIAB files to garageband on a MAC?
Also how do you save an instrument change on BIAB (also on a MAC)?

Just save your BIAB file as a MIDI file and paste it into a Garage Band new project.
each instrument track is imported with a name and can be changed to any Garage Band instrument.
