Sale or TRADE for a "no issues" D-10 or D-12 or SD-10 or 12 pedal steel
PRICE DROP Absolutely mint condition 1990s Telecaster in unusual "firemist" color with binding & rosewood fretboard. The Made in Japan sticker is under the lacquer. I bought this in 1998. Can't be sure of the exact date and can not find a serial number. Hard shell case comes with guitar$1275 plus shipping & insurance or trade for above mentioned pedal steel guitars. Thanks b0b, stevet

In the 20 years I lived in Tokyo, I never played a bad MIJ guitar. Some are higher quality wood than others, but they are all great.

Hi, Gary, yes the Tele is and has been in North Dakota since I've owned it. Sparingly used a few times one month every couple years for the last eleven years. It is in mint condition. I'm selling it to procure funds for a D-10 & because it is merely hibernating.

Hi, Steve!
I'm doing the Medora Musical for the fourth year running - check it out on-line at www.medora.com.
It's a good band and good money, but I'm here from May 25th until September 6th, so I have no doubt that the dog will bite me when I do finally get home!  It's too good to turn down in the current climate.
Where in ND is the Tele, by the way? I really don't need it - I'm currently rich in Telecasters - but I find it hard to resist a pretty one like that!
Tampa is about three hours north of me when I'm home; maybe we'll manage it one of these days.

| Did a little research. This guitar is probably a MIJ 62 or 90's Telecaster Custom. Some of the Japanese Teles have the serial number on the bridge plate if it's not on the headstock or neck plate. I don't think the bridge pickup is standard. Did you trade out the bridge pickup or was it there when you bought it? |

| Thanks for the research, Ron; the bridge pickup was in the guitar when I bought it, but does look to be non-original. That pickup has some bite. Tom Quinn mentioned the serial number should have been on the plate on the heel of the guitar. Have no idea why that was changed, as guitarists would want to identify the year. It is not on the bridge plate. I'll keep it on The Forum for a couple more weeks & then put it back to sleep for another year. steve t |

| Steve, It looks like the bridge was replaced too. If it's a 62 MIJ it should have had a three barrel bridge on it. That's probably why there isn't a serial number on the bridge plate. The 90's MIJ has gold hardware. If you're interested in dating the guitar you need to remove the neck. There should be a model number or date on it. |

Both my MIJ Teles have the dates written in pencil at the body end of the neck The best Teles I have ever owned! An '85 an a '91. |

Steve...can you put up a photo of the front of the tuning peg head. It would be nice to see the decal that was put on it. Also...you said a lower price but I didn't see it. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough.
Although that is a very nice rig, $1,200 seems just a bit steep for a MIJ guitar. Most go for a little bit less. Lets talk about this and see if we can strike up a deal real quick.

Matt, this is the only photo I have here in China. I'll be back in the USA mid-June if you are interested. Sorry I bought this years ago and don't know brand of the bridge pickup, but it has the Tele bite. As mentioned, this was modified (before I got it.) I only use it a bit at home only when I'm back in the USA every year for six weeks in the summer.
As to the cheaper MIJs, I see that newer models seem to be less expensive. Maybe somebody else with Fender Telecaster MIJ expertise could chime in here It also has an unusual custom color and binding on & is in immaculate condition. Finally, as mentioned, the price was lowered already (from another post) and includes shipping in lower 48 states. Thanks for the interest. |

That is the pup that I have. I've had it for a long time! SD has a diagram of all the different ways you can wire it. I tried, with no luck, to zoom in on your pic to see if I could see the slightly-raised logo. |
