I was talking with Russ Hicks and this sure sounds fun, but he needs more entries. This does not have to be a professional cd quality recording. Make a recording of your playing, tracks, solo, or anything. Throw a tape recorder or video camera or some recording device in front of your amp and hit record and play your heart out. Your not going to be chosen by your recording quality just the quality of playing. Get him those recordings...

This is your big shot. You can't be chosen if you don't try.

Mike, maybe I missed something, but what are these recordings to be used for? Is this for a contest, or a position to play somewhere?

There is another post talking about it somewhere, but it is a competition at the St. Louis show. You send an entry of your playing to Russ Hicks and they pick finalists, then the finalists will perform on stage in front of the judges. (Sat night) The winner then goes on to play his or her own set directly following?

I think that is how I understand it.

Then everyone will probably head over to the Jefferson room for the "Great Mullen G2 Showcase".
