You can buy a brand new on on Amazon for about $500 https://www.amazon.com/Flinthill-FHD100S-Square-Resonator-Sunburst/dp/B001L8MDQE

So if it is used, $2-300. Never played one but I would be very hesitant to buy one of they are that cheap.

In my experience the Flinthill resonator guitar would not be an upgrade from the Morrell.

What’s your budget?

Ball park 300 which is what I can get this one for. I got the cheapest Morrell I could get. The strings on the Morrell are not stiff as the Flinthill are. I am having a hard time to correctly explain the differencc.
When I press the strings on the Morrell they drop more that the Flinthill. I was showed the difference between a good Dobro than the Morrell. The strings went down more when playing on Morrell than a really good quality guitar. Now to clarify the Morrell that I have is a beginners. Excellent sound but as I said strings drop more when playing Flinthill. I also noticed that the end where strings start is a white plastic looking ( I know that it is not plastic)on flinthill. on Morrell it is metal. I hope you can understand what I am trying to say is the differene. Bob M

If it was me, I wouldn't throw good money after bad. I'd wait until I had a bit more money and buy a decent dobro, There is currently a Gold Tone on the for sale section for $700 which would be an excellent dobro http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=323646

It's going to be hard to find a better instrument than the Morrell for $300, but with a bit of looking you should be able to get a Gretsch G9210 squareneck guitar for around that price.

Hello Bob,
I'm sure you will get a lot of very good advice here from people who know. I would like to just add a little more to the mix for you to consider.

If I was a player in a Band, doing session work, TV or Concerts and the Instrument would earn me money and pay its way, I would have no hesitation in spending a lot on it, but if like me you play for the pleasure of it then large sums of money can't be justified.

I haven't heard any of the instruments mentioned here and samples always help so I have attached a You Tube of my SX Dobro, which must be the cheapest, nastiest Guitar any of you have heard of. It cost me $100 3rd hand on Fleabay, I like it a lot, it does everything I ask of it and this Video has over 250,000 views so some other people appreciate it too.

PS. The strings came with it and at this time were 2 years old.

James.

Regal also makes some nice inexpensive resonators.
I especially like the Black Lightning:
