Searched the archives and couldn't find a site to order from. Need a spare. Switchcrafts site doesn't seem to have a checkout link.

Andy,

If you have not found these yet, this might be an acceptable replacement. Good luck, Dick Sexton

I just picked up 5 of 'em off ebay. They're the type with spring ends rather than bullet ends like the ones pictured. Happy to send you one if you'd like- I'll never use all 5. email me at pkhunt1@verizon.net with your address and I'll drop it in the mail.

Hi Pete, the spring ended ones are used to make up a cord I believe and the ones I've pictured are just an adaptor. I'll take you up on your offer and have emailed you my address. Thanks!

Those adapters you seek are always available at www.harmonicaplanet.com

Amphenol is a brand name, not a specific connector type. Amphenol's designation for 5/8" screw-on connectors is MC-1 (with various suffixes), the Switchcraft version is numbered 2501 (also with various suffixes) for a connector, the Switchcraft adapter like you seek is a 332AX (formerly just 332, then 332A, finally 332AX, all are basically the same thing). I don't think Amphenol ever made an adapter with that connector type, the ones you showed a picture of are Switchcraft.

There were also some Asian knockoffs produced for a while, but they weren't as sturdy, and are mostly gone now.

The ones with the spring are a Switchcraft 2501F connector, not an adapter. The connector has to soldered onto the end of a bare microphone cable, tricky process to get right with those.

A much better + more compact option is a cable with the screw connector built onto one end using the 2501F connector. Same Harmonica Planet website offers the Tone Defender Cable which has that connector type properly installed on one end, and a standard 1/4" male jack on the other. You can ignore the part on the website about it being for a harp mic, they mate and perform perfectly with those vintage steel guitars.
