Tom Morrell" E13 tuning?

Happy Holidays everyone!
With Tom's lap steel tuning with a G# on top and then an F# and E for the 3rd string, how did he play the usual 9th chord and 3 note augmented chord that we all use with C6 or E6? Thanks
