I freaked out the first time I saw this tab in print in the PSGA Newsletter (to which you should be subscribing/supporting). It was my first serious attempt at steel guitar transcription, inspired as I was by hearing Buddy Emmons perform live for the first time at the ISGC.
I saw my tablature was just a jumble of letters and numbers. If you didn't have this recording from Buddy's "One From The Road," you'd probably shrug and just turn the page. At that point, I promised myself always to include musical notation, meter or at least lyrics to guide the gentle reader thru the tab.
Please take the meter with a grain of salt: it's probably not 100% accurate. And don't be confused by the original vertical lines which I thought would be helpful for phrasing: they may not be completely helpful when counting off 4/4 bars. Listen to the recording: you should own this gem anyway.
BTW I'm just about done - hope you have enjoyed these tabs. Regards, FF.
ADDED 1/16/12: I hope Buddy doesn't mind that I'm posting a recording of his live performance at the 1981 ISGC with the Sound Factory band HERE. Listen carefully for his line: "This is for all the people that think the pedal steel guitar is just a jazz instrument."  Thanks again, Buddy!

I WAS WONDERING HAVE YOU SEEN HERBIE WALLACE'S TAB OF
THIS SONG , I BOUGHT HIS TAB MANY YEARS AGO WHICH I THINK
IS GREAT , I MADE A SOUND TRACK USING BAND IN THE BOX AND
CAKEWALK .
IN A EMAIL WITH BILL SUTTON , HE SAID HE WOULD LIKE A COPY OF
IT , WHICH I SENT HIM , HE SAID THAT HE WANTED TO MAKE A CD .
BUT I HAVEN'T HEARD IT YET .

Hey Bob -
I didn’t realize Herbie Wallace did this song! I’d love to hear it, but I can’t imagine anyone topping Buddy’s version.
Looking back, I might tab it a little differently but ... it is what it is.
