Thanks Carl - The little blonde '74 model belonged to my good friend Eddie Rhea (RIP May, 2019). He posted a pic of her on this thread on January 19, 2016. He was especially proud of this guitar as it served as the prototype for a new guitar project James Morehead and Ricky Davis were working on in 2014. Unfortunately, James passed away before it got off the ground. There's nothing original Sho~Bud about the undercarriage except for some bell cranks. Even the knee levers were made by James. All cross shafts ride in bearings pressed into custom mounts, and I'm told the changer has needle bearings. As you may know, those guys were/are big proponents of the older single/single Sho~Bud pullers. It does play like butter! They used a Jerry Wallace Truetone instead of the original pickup. His widow contacted me a few months ago and said she was ready to start letting some of his stuff go. It's a special guitar and I felt a strong desire to own it. After making a few minor changes to the setup, I've used it on several gigs in the last couple of months.

Appreciate the info behind the Sho-Bud Kenny. James was a hard charger for sure and with Ricky D. on top of that! The under carriage sure looks good and glad you’re getting to gig it as well. I was in Prague a few times this past summer and thought about James and how it would have been good to stop and talk steel…We lost him and Eddie way too soon. Thanks again….Carl |

New Kid on the block here. Just picked up my first steel after playing guitar and mandolin for the last bit'a years. Looks like I've seen listings on here of this same rig being bought and sold a few times and has "Cantrell" and "J.M.B" on the case from it's past lives.
Happy to be on the forum and look forward to learning a lot!

Derek outdid himself on my Rittenberry Prestige. The fit, finish and mechanics are second to none with a tone to match even with all the supply problems over the last several years. I have never sat down to a steel that just fit ,but this one does! T
