I meant for it to be "BOB" but everyone says "BOBBY".
My name is actually "Robert Kenneth Seymour". The spelling "Bobbe" came in the first grade because of there being six "Roberts" in the class and the teacher had to have a way to tell us apart. (it wasn't long 'til she had other ways, she soon never mixed me up with the rest of them) Turned out she was my first wife,

Bobbe, you are the Chuck Norris of steel guitar! I bet you married your first grade teacher while still married to your kindergarden teacher. And when you get to a gig, you don't have to set up your steel. You just open the case and stare at it until it gets so scared it sets itself up.

Reference "Chuck Norris Facts" on Google, just in case you think I've flown over the cuckoo's nest.

It reminds me of the spelling phenomena that occurred during the middle ages. In those days there was far less standardisation on spelling than there is nowadays, and signwriters and masons were paid by the letter, so they made names as long as they could, and you ended up with such absurdities as..
OLDE WORLDE SHOPPE (16 letters)
instead of
OLD WORLD SHOP (12 letters, and so only 3/4 of the cost !)
But they didn't like the old letters "thorn" and "yod", since they could be replaced with two letters "th", or the letters Æ朜which they could separate into two letters and make more money. They killed off "thorn" to such an extent that people nowadays see the word "THE" spelt "УE" and confuse it with "YE".
I've even heard people say "Ye Oldy Shoppy", as though there were some pronunciation change.

You can call him Bob.
You can call him Bad Bob.
You can call him Bobbe.
But you doesn't have to call him Mr. Seymour.
(Just don't call him late for dinner.)
