Notice to Players On Charles Tilley Web Site For Pickers

Post by Charles Tilley »

I am creating a new page that will be easier to see all players and select the one you want to hear.

The site is located at www.etsga.org/steelguitarplayers.htm

Those of you that are on the site already, please go and check to see that I have everything right. Sometimes transfers of information seem to be changed. Send an email if there needs to be a change to ttexastilley@sbcglobal.net.

If you have had your song on the site for more than a month and want to change it, please feel free to send another MP3 song and I will replace the one there with it.

Thanks to all who are already with me and to those who will be joining us soon. Remember, no charge for publishing the song file. It cannot be a singing file. City and state of artist is to be included for publication.

If you have questions, please email me.

Hi Charles,

I think your new site has a better look and "feel" to it. You are doing a great service to steel players everywhere.

I was wondering if you will be posting the song I sent you. The player is Nils Farstad from Norway. Please let me know if there was problem receiving this file. I have sent it to you twice so far.
Thanks !

There must be something wrong with my settings, it's all jumbled up, with the tune on the far right of the screen, and the player on the far left

Charles,

I enjoy the site very much. Get a chance to hear players I might never hear otherwise. I particularly enjoy Billy Braddy. I'm sad that I will never get to meet him. He was my kind of player.

Bent, I never received the file here. It may have gone the the spam file. Please try to send it again.

If there are others that sent files and they are not posted, the same thing may have happened. Please submit the files again.

Bad display of web page

Post by Charles Tilley »

Richard and Jim------ I feel sure you know a lot more about puters than I do but I would suggest that you chek your settings by right clicking on the desktop and selecting "settings" to see what is there. I use 1024 X 768. Also if the screen is not "Full Screen" the same results will occur.

Let me know.

Charles, it's a great site, thank you so much for doing it. For some reason on the new page some of the names don't show up, everything else does. The problem may be on my end.

Steel guitar songs published

Post by Charles Tilley »

2 or 3 of you have notified me that they can't hear the song. I have checked every one this morning and everyone of them play. If any of you are having problems listening to any or all of the songs, I have done just about all I know how to do to insure that they are correct. I do mis-spell from time to time and I thank you for bringing that to my attention so I can correct it.

Remember that songs can be changed once each month. Some of you have never changed the song and that is OK. I just want you to have the opportunity to change to a different song if you wish.

As of this moment, every email I have received has been attended to. CDs received have also been converted and published or changed.

Charles,
Maybe the problem is what I first thought: Remember I told you it is a WAV file? And you said that I should send it and that you would convert it to mp3?
Well....maybe, if the file is too big(wav files are big) in that case, your ISP might reject it because of size. That's the only thing I can think of.
I guess I need that conversion program you offered to send me. Could you send it, or give me a link on which to download it?
Thanks for going to all this trouble, Charles. you are doing a great service to all steel players world-wide.
sincerely

I want to thank Charles for taking his time to solve a problem with my song file.
He could have just let it be, but he took it upon himself to spend the time to solve and fix it.
Thanks Charles.
