Hi Bill. I'm sorry but I'm not the same john that is a professional steel guitarist, I'm just one who plays as a hobby I wish that I could hold the title of being a professional and it is because of great steel guitarist like you who have inspired me to play. _________________ Marlen SD 10 3 and 5,Fender 5 String Banjo, Flinthill 5 string banjo,Johnson Resonator Guitar, Ibanez AFS75T Country/Jazz Guitar. |

John, that was a very honest mistake on my part and now our steel guitar world is in better hands with the two of you in it..So, it all turns out just right in the end.
So humbled that you like my efforts. Thanks so much. Will you be in Dallas? If so, look me up. Bill STafford |

Hi John,
Thanks for your kind words! Appreciated!
That recording was done using my 1970 P/P (D10), fitted with George L E66 pickups. (Not the steel in my avatar). |

Howdy folks. Charles has posted my song for this month, it is a gospel tune called Curch In The Wildwood. I used the John Hughey backing track and I'm playing both the steel and the dobro on the song. Charlie, your dedication to this site and our music is most appreciated. Thanks for inserting my efforts on a version of the standard steel guitar song- "Steel Guitar Rag". Tommy Williams is featured in this one and you will her Duke Dumas on bass. Pleasure for me to have been in this session with those great musicians. For those who might be interested, this version was played in Eb and Db.
Thanks Charlie, see you this weekend in Dallas.

Charles Tilley has posted my song for April. It is "By The Time I Get To Phoenix" I edited a midi file to use for my backup music. Thank you very much Charles for having this website and for being a great help to all the steel guitarists here. _________________ Marlen SD 10 3 and 5,Fender 5 String Banjo, Flinthill 5 string banjo,Johnson Resonator Guitar, Ibanez AFS75T Country/Jazz Guitar. |

Vernon, just saw your posting here. I had fun with that session. Tommy Williams on fiddle and recorded that at Breeden's Studio in Nashville. Duke Dumas on bass on this session. I tried to play that ole standard a little different and in two keys-Eb and last times around in C#. So proud you liked it. Thanks.
John, M., will go give a listen to your playing one of my favorite songs..

I'm just gonna guess Vernon that you used the MSA on September Song and the ZumSteel on I'll Hold You In My Heart but I am sure about one thing...they both sound great with excellent tone. Thanks for sharing. _________________ Marlen SD 10 3 and 5,Fender 5 String Banjo, Flinthill 5 string banjo,Johnson Resonator Guitar, Ibanez AFS75T Country/Jazz Guitar. |
