Hi Guys, Tilley has kindly put on my new song for July, "She's Funny that Way". An old big band standard of so many years ago.
I did that on a S10 E6(C6) tuning, with a couple of my special Knee lever pulls.
The Steel guitar Forum is the place to be and thanks to Charles Tilley Posting "The Songs Heard Around the World"...al.SmileSmile Very Happy Cool Cool

Excellent job Al on that song and some fantastic chord work, your style of playing is right up there with Joaquin Murphy.

John-Thanks for the encouraging comments. I knew Joaquin, after spending the night with Jimmy Yates at the club, they came to my house in Phoenix, and he was just getting back on his feet again.(drying out). He leaned over my 14 string home built guitar and never used the pedals. And that guitar never saw that kind of playing, just great. I hoped he left a few licks on it. Bless him....al.Smile Cool

Tilley,
I had forgot about us doing that song together?
Kinda shows us 2 ole Codgers can work together even if we are 1200 miles apart.I was playing my MSA,which guitar were you using?.
We will have to do some more.I have been working with a friend in Asheville NC for about 6 months swapping parts. he is a piano player and having a ball. I am waiting on him to edit his parts of "No One Will Ever Know",I sent him last week, when he sends it back I will massage it and send him the finished project.
Thanks you for a wonderful site.,get to hear a bunch of good pickers.I am currently working on some Hawaii tunes with Amy for a Jerry Byrds friend Bill Blevins. Will cut it to CD for him.

Vern, it was a pleasure to send you that file for you to add to it. It just goes to shows you that a person should leave well enough alone.

I was playing sorta good before you showed me up with that MSA. I was playing a GFI but have recently bought me an Excel that will arrive next week. I owned one once before but like a fool sold it. Gonna put a couple L-705s in that honey and then watch out!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone likes the new look for the songs on the site. This will allow me to place more than 1 song for each player wanting more than one.

I would like to put two on too.You still have the greatest website and thank you for putting up with us....al.Smile

Nic du Toit-"Soft Rain " and "One has my Name". Another one of your fine recordings.

Vernon Hester-"He stopped loving her Today" and "My Isle of Goldent Dreams'"( this one is is the classic Waltze, that us older people played), a Beautiful version with nice tone.

John McGlothlin-"Making Believe", nice smooth job, John, nice change to Dobro in the middle and nice key change. good tone again. The other one, "All My Exxes live in Texas", good Texas Swing.
