Yes Sir! Music from my childhood.

Jack and Jeannie were my favorites back in the day. The first Nashville act I ever saw was at the time they were on top. I still have the book with the autographs of the entire band including Ron, Jimmy, and Noel.

And then here's one of my career highlight from 2005.

Stephen, Those are great Clips of Jeannie Seely. She is a wonderful singer and entertainer. I havent seen her on the opry for quite a long time now. I havent seen Porter Wagoner or Little Jimmy Dickens For a long time either.I don't know whats wrong with the opry. The acts they have on, are not even country.

I worked now and then with Jeannie's brother Bernie out here in Simi Valley. One would have thought we would have seen her out here but she never came round.

Bernie told me about one time he went to Nashville to see her. She showed him all around and he got to be backstage during her show. In describing his experiences he sounded more like a nervous fan meeting his idol than he did like a brother. I guess I would have been the same way.

My very first pro gig was in a package show in Aberdeen Maryland in 1978-79. Jeanie was the headliner.
I remember sitting and talking to her for a few minutes much later that evening at the hotel. She had a little dog on her lap. I was even interviewed on the radio about pedal steel. It was all amazing to me as I just knew some real basic back up playing. I got the job thru a fellow named Earl Sexton, who also sold me my first pedal steel. I wish I could remember the name of the fellow I backed up. He was in his forties and had a killer voice. He just did covers of old standards.

Steve, I have heard that Jeannie Pruett had a brother named Don Bowman, yeah the humorous one. Do you know if that is true? Just wondering as I told this to a friend from Nashville recently and he said WHAT?
