Rickenbacher Question

While it isn't the holy grail, I think I have run across an even more rare Rickenbacher lap steel.
The instrument has a wood body and is shaped exactly like the models 59/S/NS. It has a horse shoe pickup; don't know how wide yet. Two flying saucer knobs on the same side. It has a sticker logo on the peghead.
The instrument is essentially a wood model 59 or S. The question is: Does anyone out there know anything about a guitar shaped, wood body Rick? I've never heard of or seen one. Gruhn's Guide doesn't list anything like it.

About 2 years ago on Ebay I saw what looked like a factory issued wooden bodied Rick, but it looked more like the Bakelite bodies having a 'carved top' like look (ala the cover plates) instead of simply flat. It had a nice dark 2 tone burst finish and a black horseshoe PU with 2 black knobs. It had the 5 side Rick decal, black and red on white.

Just sitting there in the picture, this thing screamed tone!

I later saw a shot of it on Denny Turner's web site. Don't know if he got it.

That's quite close to what I saw, but with less 'wow' factor.

I lightened up the photo. That brought out a lot more detail. Looks to be a prewar pickup and strings through body.
