I really enjoy the old pics.

This was taken in 1949, my second year of lessons at the Halifax Hawaiian Studios in Nova Scotia. The guitar is a "concert size" S. S. Stewart which I got for taking the second year "Advanced" course. I traded in my Stella for it. Lessons were $1 per week which my Mom could barely afford. The younger boy is my nephew Greg Carruthers. I was 12 years old.

And I still play in the old A Major tuning as well as A6, E, C6th (from reading TAB), the Dobro in G and A.

Dunno, but it'd be interesting to know whether the Sheriff was there to prevent people getting in or getting out... :?
